The AI agent ecosystem hit a new velocity this week. OpenAI dropped GPT-5.6 as a limited preview — a three-model family (Sol, Terra, Luna) led by flagship Sol, with Sam Altman noting restricted launch at the request of the US government. OpenAI also published research showing agent usage in research workflows jumped 56x since November 2025. Salesforce's $3.6B acquisition of Fin signals agentic AI M&A is accelerating. A coalition of Google, Microsoft, GitHub, and Hugging Face shipped the Agentic Resource Discovery (ARD) specification — essentially "DNS for AI agents." Security concerns continue scaling: malicious skills targeting OpenClaw's ClawHub marketplace were exposed, with attackers using poisoned SKILL.md files for supply-chain attacks. Marc Andreessen captured the macro picture: "The AI:AC Hypothesis — the amount of AI will be proportional to the amount of AC."
June 26 limited preview. Sol is the flagship frontier model, Terra delivers GPT-5.5-level performance at half the price, and Luna is fast and affordable for high-volume work. Access is restricted at the request of the US government.
A wave of malicious skills targeting the OpenClaw AI agent marketplace has exposed a dangerous new frontier in software supply chain security. Attackers are using poisoned SKILL.md files to push harmful code into AI agent installations.
Agentic Resource Discovery is an open spec standardizing how AI agents discover and verify tools online — think "DNS for AI agents." GitHub already shipped Agent Finder for Copilot implementing the spec, developed with Google, GoDaddy, Hugging Face, and Microsoft.
OpenAI published data showing enterprise agent adoption exploded. Research saw the biggest jump — median use 56x higher than November 2025. Customer Support rose 32x, Engineering 27x, Legal grew 13x.
Salesforce deepens its agentic AI push, acquiring autonomous AI agent platform Fin to complement Agentforce. A direct counter to Microsoft and ServiceNow's AI agent offerings. Expected to close Q4 FY2027.
